Lightbox
Lightbox 2 — Download from WordPress Plugin Directory
What it does:
- Click on an image and it expands over the current page on a semi-transparent background. Multiple images in one post can be grouped together in something of a slide show.
Options: Settings > Lightbox
- Can adjust the background color
- Level of transparency
- Set option to automatically add code to all images in a post.
- Or add code to each image to make use of the feature.
- Add rel=”lightbox” to any image link to have the larger image display as an overlay.
Notes:
- When you add an image to a post, make sure it’s linked back to the image file. (that’s an option in the Add Images dialog window) Without that, people can’t click on the image to display a larger version.
- Seems to play nicely with the NextGen gallery plugin.
Example: Click on photos to see the lightbox effect. Cool, eh! Notice the “prev” and “next” links at the top left/right.
